Business File Envelope (BFE)
This section gives access to the description of the ISO 20022 Business File Envelope maintained by the ISO 20022 Technical Support Group and approved by the Cross-SEG Harmonisation group (CSH) on 21 January 2026.
The Business File Envelope is a technical message container used to bundle multiple message instances into a single file, typically to support processing or transport. It may contain and define additional data elements that apply to the message instance container.

Please note that v1 was originally published as the Business File Header (head.001), and should be replaced with the Business File Envelope for any new implementation.
