Errors identified in the ISO 20022 Catalogue of messages

Nov 15, 2013

Some corrections were made to the Full Catalogue and the Securities Catalogue

In November 2013, the following two Errata were published in the ISO 20022 Catalogue of messages

Errata about the publication of the Investment Funds message definitions resulting from the 2012/2013 maintenance cycle.

On 31 May 2013, the ISO 20022 Registration Authority (RA) published the new versions of the message definitions that had been impacted by the 2012/2013 maintenance cycle (see specific News 'Maintenance Cycle 2012/2013').

As far as the Investment Funds message set was concerned, this maintenance resulted in the development of new versions of 18 existing messages that were published by the RA on 31 May 2013.  At the occasion of this maintenance process, the Securities SEG also decided to remove one message definition: PriceReportCorrectionV03 (reda.003.001.03).

Mistakenly, the RA did not remove this message definition from the current Investment Funds message set, and reda.003.001.03 has been published as part of the 'reda' business area in the Full catalogue of messages and as part of the Investment Funds message set in the Securities catalogue between 31 May and 15 November 2013.

Errata about the migration to the new edition of ISO 20022:2013 on 31 May 2013 and the compliance of Settlement and Reconciliation XML schemas published on that date.

On 31 May 2013, the ISO 20022 Registration Authority (RA) published the new versions of the messages that had been impacted by the 2012/2013 maintenance cycle (see specific News 'Maintenance Cycle 2012/2013'). On the same date, the RA migrated to the new edition of ISO 20022 (see specific News 'Launch of the new edition of ISO 20022 on 31 May 2013'). As a result of this migration, the XML schemas of messages that had not been updated in the 2012/2013 maintenance cycle had to be 'patched' (without changing their version number) to remove some superfluous <xs:sequence> lines in ChoiceComponents as illustrated below:

In the Securities Settlement and Reconciliation message set, 17 XML schemas (see list below) had not been impacted by the 2012/2013 maintenance cycle and, consequently, should have been patched by the RA as shown above. Mistakenly, the RA did not patch these 17 XML schemas on 31 May 2013.  The first 14 XML schemas were patched and re-published on 11 October 2013 and the last three on 4 November 2013.
