Full catalogue of ISO 20022 messages

This section gives access to the latest version of approved ISO 20022 message definitions. Previous versions remain available in the ISO 20022 Message Archive.

The following documentation is available on this page:

  • a Message Definition Report (MDR) and, when necessary, a Message Usage Guide (MUG) fully describing each message set
  • the XML schema of each message definition,
  • business examples of XML instances, when provided by the submitting organisation
  • message definition variants, as defined by communities of users
  • the Business Application Header (BAH) documentation

In the table below:

  • the column "T or P" indicates whether a message has already been tested ('T') or implemented in live production ('P'). A hyphen indicates that the RA is not aware of any testing or implementation. Companies and institutions that have tested or implemented some of the messages below are invited to inform the Registration Authority and communicate any remarks they would have on the published documentation. The hyperlink in this column gives access to the Excel "Master Message Template" that can be used by communities of users to express their 'variant' use of the message. It also gives access to the customised message templates submitted by these communities.
  • the column "SD" indicates the ISO 20022 message definitions for which one or more Supplementary Data message extensions have been approved.

Implementers of ISO 20022 messages should note that, on 15 June 2010, the Registration Management Group(RMG) has approved a SupplementaryData XML extension mechanism for use in some ISO 20022 messages.
Below securities messages that make use of the "Extension1" or "Extension2" extension mechanisms will be updated to adopt the approved SupplementaryData extension mechanism through the standard maintenance process as defined on this website. Please refer to change request n°0049 in the Catalogue of Change Requests for more information.
