The catalogue of messages gives access to the current, latest version of approved ISO 20022 message definitions. Although previous versions remain available in the ISO 20022 Message Archive, all communities of ISO 20022 users are invited to consider using always the most recent version of the message definitions to ensure worldwide coherence of the versions in use and thereby avoid that users participating in several communities have to maintain several versions in parallel. ISO 20022 uses a yearly maintenance process. New versions of global message definitions are usually made available in the spring whenever there is a need to update them to address change requests submitted by the users. New versions of variants of the global message definitions can be made available outside the yearly maintenance process.
